What We Believe

Articles of Faith

1. We believe in one true and living God; and that there are three person in the god-head; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matt. 28:19; John 10:30; Eph. 1:11-18; 2 Cor. 13:14
2. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the inspired Word of God and the only rule of faith and practice. 2 Tim. 3:14-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21
3. We Believe man can not save his own soul and is saved by grace through faith. John 3:16; Heb. 7:25-27; Eph. 1:1; 1 Peter 1:10-21; Eph. 2:8-9
4. We believe if you are once saved you are always saved. Phil. 1:6; Phil. 2:12-13; John 10:26-29; Romans 8:28
5. We believe Baptism is one of two New Testament ordinances; That nothing is Baptism but immersion; that believers are the only subjects of this ordinance.

6. We believe that the Lord's Supper is one of two New Testament ordinances; that it is a memorial supper; and that we are to observe it in remembrances of the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ.

7. We believe the punishment of the lost will be eternal, and the joy of the saved with be eternal. 2 Thess. 1:5-9;

8. We believe the obligation to witness is on every church and every saved person. Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Acts 8:4
9. We believe that we are a New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ, an autonomous body of baptized believers, committed to His teaching and seeking to extend the gospel to all through the democratic process under leadership of the Lord Jesus Christ. Matt. 16:15-19;

10. We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord's Day. It commemorates the resurrection of Christ from the dead. It should be kept holy as a day of rest and worship.

11. We believe the Kingdom of God is the realm of Salvation into which men enter by the commitment to Jesus Christ and includes both His general sovereignty over the universe and over men who acknowledge Him as King. The full consummation of the kingdom awaits the return of Jesus Christ and the end of this age. Gen. 1:1; Matt. 3:2;

12. We believe according to the Scriptures, God is the source of all blessings temporal and spiritual. All that we are, we owe to Him. Christians should contribute of their material possessions, of their time, and of the talents cheerfully, regularly, systematically, proportionally, and liberally for the advancement of the Redeemer's cause on earth.
